Personal needs

I should give some background on what I use the SK3 for:

Lots of POP e-mail from multiple accounts

Lots of instant messaging on AIM and Yahoo!

Lots and lots of web browsing

Taking pictures and posting to Flickr and here

That’s what’s important to me.  What I don’t do with my SK3 includes:

Talking on the phone (I use the iPhone)

Playing music or games

Desktop syncing, calendar, addresses, to-dos

In either case, I’ve been an on-again, off-again, on-again Sidekick user since the early days of the T-Mobile Sidekick 2.

The good

Camera

Two clicks to launch, and quick response to the shutter button

Instant “save or discard” choice after taking picture

Handy “Send last photo” option when using viewfinder

Gives photos an interesting saturation that I really like

Instant Messaging

Never loses messages, even when roaming in and out of coverage when driving through the mountains

Easy to carry on multiple IMs and swap between them

Ability to copy and/or e-mail IM conversations

E-mail

Nearly a perfect mobile e-mail client for my needs

Supports multiple POP accounts, and allows you to respond t a message from one account using a different account

Per-account signatures: one for home, one for work, one for ...

Can be configured to not delete off the server when you POP your mail, and/or when you delete your mail from the SK3

Easy foldering of e-mail, including automatically per account

Phone

Hit Jump and start typing a name to find a phone number

Easy call hold and conference calling (as easy as iPhone)

Web browser

Reasonably capable browser for most websites I use

Just start typing to enter a new URL; no menus, no fuss
